Jen's Special Journey for Breast Cancer

Well, I keep telling myself that I am not doing enough to raise money for breast cancer, so I thought I would walk 60 miles. Yes, 60 miles! I am doing the Kenosha to Chicago Avon Three-Day walk in June of 2002. I will be joining about 6,000 other participants to walk from Kenosha, Wisconsin to the Chicago lakefront.

My mission is to finish the Three-Day walk (without causing serious injury to myself or others) and raise money and awareness for breast cancer. To participate in the walk, I agreed to collect at least $1,900 in pledges so please donate to my journey if you can.

I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate my mom in the tenth year after her death from breast cancer (that's mom in the photo up above). I'm also celebrating my aunt Bonnie who is a breast cancer survivor! I hope that my participation can help other women so that they will never have to go through what my mom did and so other daughters will not have to watch their mothers go through the battle that I watched mine lose.

I'm looking forward to the walk with excitment, anticipation, and YES I'M SCARED!!! It is going to be a difficult journey, but I know that it will be well worth it.

Please view my site, sign the guest book, send me an e-mail, and PLEASE feel free to pledge! I will keep you all posted on how my training and fundraising is going.

Thanks to everyone for all their love and support.
